“No danger to the public” is something police often say as soon as possible after a man kills members of his family. To reassure. “The public.”
I’m one member of the public who is not reassured.
Male violence against women is the greatest danger to the public there is. And it’s relentless. And we can’t even talk about it.

I’d say there is a big danger to the public: abusive, controlling, jealous, violent men with guns.
But apparently not, as in this week’s triple murder/suicide in Nova Scotia, committed by Lionel Desmond ending the lives of his mother, partner, and daughter, which also represents “no danger to the public”

Newsflash: Women are the public. Black women are the public. Black girls are the public.
Every six days another woman is killed.
There is a danger to the public.
THERE IS A DANGER TO THE PUBLIC.
THERE. IS. A. DANGER. TO. THE. PUBLIC.
